PUNK IN ENGLAND: BRITISH ROCK

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a vibrant, albeit brief, glimpse into the explosive British music scene of the late 1970s. Titled 'Punk in England: British Rock,' it serves as a follow-up to 'Punk in London,' charting the genre's evolution through its impact on Ska, New Wave, and the Mod revival. Through live performances and interviews, the film captures the raw energy and cultural shifts of the era, spotlighting key acts such as The Clash, Ian Dury And The Blockheads, Secret Affair, and Pauline Black. While the director is not credited, the compilation effectively showcases the transition from punk's initial fury to its more polished and diverse offshoots.
