PUNCH AND JUDY

Cinemavixion Review

This independent horror offering, "Punch and Judy," delves into the chilling psychological landscape of a woman, Val, who believes her beloved Punch and Judy puppets have become vessels for an evil entity. As her grip on reality seems to loosen, her family's concern mounts, especially as her birthday approaches. What begins as a somber family gathering quickly devolves into a terrifying ordeal when inexplicable disappearances and disturbing visions plague the household. The film expertly blurs the lines between Val's deteriorating mental state and the possibility of a genuine supernatural threat, raising the question of whether the chaos is born from within or unleashed by the cursed puppets themselves. Director Sam Bentham crafts a suspenseful narrative that culminates in a nightmarish scenario where a family reunion transforms into a battle for survival against malevolent forces embodied in these classic toys.
