PROM RIDE

Cinemavixion Review

This 2015 horror-thriller plunges viewers into the darkly ironic setting of a high school prom gone terribly wrong. As a group of friends anticipates a night of celebration, their limo becomes the stage for a terrifying ordeal when a psychotic killer takes control. The film masterfully builds suspense, transforming the anticipated elegance of prom into a desperate fight for survival. Director Kazeem Molake, alongside actors Heather Paige Cohn and Omar Gooding, crafts a narrative that not only delivers on jump scares and gore but also delves into the psychological toll of extreme situations, where trust erodes and dark secrets surface. While the film may not shy away from its B-movie roots, it offers a compelling exploration of how dire circumstances can fracture relationships and reveal the true nature of its characters. It's a tense ride that questions who among them will make it out alive, making for a memorable, albeit grim, cinematic experience.
