Edward F. Cline's "Private Buckaroo" is a delightful slice of wartime Hollywood, a musical comedy that leverages the star power of bandleader Harry James and the iconic Andrews Sisters. While the ensemble cast, including Donald O'Connor and Joe E. Lewis, delivers solid performances, it is Shemp Howard who unexpectedly steals the show.
