PRISONER BY CHOICE: THE FRANKIE SAN STORY

Cinemavixion Review

Daniel Fisher's "Prisoner by Choice: The Frankie San Story" offers a poignant glimpse into the life of Kyuzo Miyoshi, a man known to many as Frankie San. The documentary chronicles his journey from post-World War II Japan, where he narrowly escaped a tragic end, to the United States. Here, he found himself within the confines of a high-security prison, forging unexpected bonds with society's overlooked individuals. Despite the film's limited release and modest YouTube viewership, its narrative depth and the compelling subject matter, as evidenced by an impressive IMDb rating of 9.6, suggest a powerful and moving cinematic experience. This is a story of resilience, unlikely friendships, and finding humanity in the most challenging environments.
