PRETTY CHEATERS, DEADLY LIES

Cinemavixion Review

In "Pretty Cheaters, Deadly Lies," director Leo Scherman delivers a taut thriller that explores the dark side of ambition and familial obligation. The film centers on Hannah Fletcher (Keara Graves), a high school senior who finds herself entangled in a desperate attempt to protect her cousin, Madison, from blackmail. Hannah's well-intentioned but misguided decision to take Madison's college entrance exam for her quickly spirals into a dangerous game of deception when Madison's true, deadly intentions come to light. Anchored by a compelling performance from Graves, the film effectively builds suspense, drawing viewers into Hannah's increasingly perilous predicament. Kate Drummond also stands out as a figure of authority whose presence adds another layer of tension. While the narrative occasionally treads familiar ground within the thriller genre, its exploration of manipulative relationships and the consequences of unchecked desires keeps the audience engaged. "Pretty Cheaters, Deadly Lies" is a compelling watch for fans of suspenseful dramas that delve into the complexities of teenage life and the devastating outcomes of poor choices.
