PREDATORS WITHOUT BORDERS: THE HIPPIE TRAIL KILLER AND THE BANK ROBBING COUPLE | DOUBLE EPISODE

Cinemavixion Review

This double episode of "Interpol Investigates" masterfully weaves together two distinct tales of international criminal pursuit. "The Serpent" plunges into the chilling narrative of Charles Sobhraj, a figure of deceptive charm who preyed on unsuspecting travelers along the 1970s hippie trail. The episode vividly portrays his calculated brutality, highlighting the monumental effort by Dutch diplomat Herman Knippenberg to unmask the killer. Complementing this is "Dangerous Company," detailing the audacious bank-robbing escapades of Craig Pritchert and Nova Guthrie. Their evolution from petty thieves to a precision-driven duo, culminating in their flight to South Africa, showcases the complexities of modern law enforcement. The series effectively employs interviews, archival footage, and dramatizations to illuminate Interpol's vital role in transcending borders to bring elusive criminals to justice. It's a compelling look at the intricate dance between predator and pursuer on a global scale.
