POWER, PASSION & MURDER

Cinemavixion Review

This 1987 made-for-television film, "Power, Passion & Murder," plunges into the shadowy underbelly of Hollywood during its much-vaunted "Golden Age." Director Paul Bogart crafts a narrative that peels back the glittering facade to reveal the ruthless machinations required for survival and success. Michelle Pfeiffer delivers a compelling performance as Natica Jackson, a starlet whose ambition is matched only by her determination to navigate the treacherous landscape of the 1930s film industry. The film effectively captures the high stakes of Tinseltown, where dreams are forged and careers can be shattered with equal ferocity. "Power, Passion & Murder" offers a stark, compelling look at the sacrifices and strategic maneuvering necessary to climb the ladder, making for an engaging watch that explores the darker side of cinematic aspiration.
