POINT DEFIANCE

Cinemavixion Review

Justin Foia's 'Point Defiance' crafts a tense, claustrophobic thriller set against the backdrop of a seemingly idyllic, isolated home. The film masterfully explores the destructive patterns of familial trauma as a bachelor's life is upended by the return of his troubled brother, fresh from military service. Derek Phillips and Josh Crotty deliver compelling performances, embodying the raw emotional conflict and simmering violence that defines their characters' fraught relationship. As the brothers are forced to confront their shared, violent past, the narrative tightens its grip, posing chilling questions about loyalty, survival, and the secrets that bind us. With its atmospheric setting and intense character dynamics, 'Point Defiance' offers a gripping examination of how deeply rooted past traumas can shatter present peace, leading to an inevitable, dark reckoning.
