POINT B

Cinemavixion Review

Conor Long's "Point B" presents a fascinating, albeit low-budget, exploration of scientific ambition and its unforeseen consequences. The film centers on four graduate students who stumble upon the reality of their experimental clean energy reactor: it's a rudimentary teleporter. While the premise echoes classic science fiction tropes, "Point B" distinguishes itself with a focus on the practical, and often chaotic, ramifications of such a discovery. The narrative skillfully navigates the ethical and practical dilemmas that arise from manipulating the fabric of space, offering a thought-provoking, if occasionally uneven, viewing experience. This independent gem is a testament to the power of a compelling concept and strong character dynamics, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of cerebral sci-fi.
