PIRATE DOG

Cinemavixion Review

Jonathan Sykes' 2008 animated feature, "Pirate Dog," offers a charming if somewhat predictable adventure centered on Scrappy, a wisecracking canine adopted by two young girls. When the girls find themselves stranded on a deserted island, Scrappy embarks on a seafaring quest to find a ghost ship populated by amiable pirates. While the plot might tread familiar ground, the voice performances, particularly from the ensemble cast including Jon Arthur, Craig Bernard, and Todd Catalano, lend a lively spirit to the proceedings. The film's straightforward narrative and gentle humor make it a suitable choice for younger audiences seeking a lighthearted tale of friendship and bravery on the high seas.
