PERFECTLY SINGLE

Cinemavixion Review

Director Van Elder crafts a charming narrative in "Perfectly Single," a film that balances humor with a heartfelt exploration of self-discovery. Erica Hubbard delivers a nuanced performance as a socially awkward optometrist, whose journey, spurred by her friends' encouragement, becomes a delightful, albeit sometimes comedic, quest for happiness. The film wisely sidesteps typical romantic comedy tropes to focus on the protagonist's internal growth, finding fulfillment not just in a younger love interest, but more importantly, within herself. While the film may not boast major accolades, its genuine portrayal of personal evolution and the relatable struggles of finding one's place make it a worthwhile watch, especially for those seeking a story with substance beneath its lighthearted exterior. The presence of Omar Gooding and Stoney Jackson adds a familiar gravitas to the supporting cast.
