PERFECTLY GOOD MOMENT

Cinemavixion Review

Lauren Greenhall's 'Perfectly Good Moment' delves into the intricate and often destructive dynamics of a passionate yet toxic relationship. The film masterfully explores the fine line between intense connection and unhealthy obsession, posing compelling questions about control, sensitivity, and hidden motives. Stephen Carlile and Amanda Jane Stern deliver nuanced performances, breathing life into Ruby and David's complicated history. As Ruby returns after an eight-year cycle of separation, the narrative skillfully reintroduces the familiar, unsettling patterns that plague their bond. Greenhall navigates the psychosexual tension with a steady hand, keeping the audience guessing about the true nature of Ruby's return and the underlying complexities of their shared past. This is a thought-provoking exploration of love, codependency, and the secrets that can fester beneath a seemingly perfect surface, earning its place as a noteworthy thriller.
