PERFECT SISTERS

Cinemavixion Review

Stanley M. Brooks' 'Perfect Sisters' offers a chilling exploration of abuse, neglect, and the desperate measures taken by two sisters in the face of unbearable circumstances. Based on the notorious 'Bathtub Girls' case, the film meticulously reconstructs the events leading up to and following a mother's murder, as perceived through the eyes of Sandra and Beth. Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley deliver compelling performances, portraying the complex bond between siblings driven to unthinkable acts. The narrative delves into the psychological impact of trauma and the disturbing subculture that can foster such dark fantasies. While the film's true-crime nature inherently lends itself to a harrowing watch, its examination of the girls' desperate bid for a semblance of normalcy is both heartbreaking and thought-provoking, prompting reflection on the societal failures that contribute to such tragedies.
