In "Per un pugno di follower" (2020), directed by Nick Everhart, a social media enthusiast finds herself in a desperate situation, leading her to frame her best friend for murder. This thriller explores the dark side of online obsession and the extreme measures one might take to maintain their digital persona. The film delves into the psychological consequences of a life lived through a screen, questioning the authenticity of relationships when they are filtered through social media. While the premise hints at a tense narrative, the execution relies heavily on the dramatic irony of the protagonist's actions and their unraveling consequences. It's a cautionary tale for the digital age, examining how far people will go for validation and followers.
