PEACEMAKER

Cinemavixion Review

This German Western, "Peacemaker," plunges viewers into the grim landscape of 1891, where a brutal massacre at the Saint Martin monastery leaves 23 nuns and 7 priests dead. The narrative follows the unlikely partnership between US Marshall William James Richford and Mounted Policeman Richard Custer as they endeavor to uncover the perpetrators behind this heinous crime. Director Maximilian Osterholz crafts a compelling tale of justice and retribution, bolstered by performances from Ferdi Özten, Neven Nöthig, and Talisa Lara Schmid. While the film grapples with dark themes, its exploration of law and order in a lawless frontier offers a thought-provoking cinematic experience. The stark setting and the procedural element of the investigation promise a gripping watch for fans of the Western genre.
