Christian Sesma's 'Paydirt' plunges audiences into a sun-baked, morally ambiguous desert landscape where desperation fuels a high-stakes treasure hunt. The film centers on a parolee, portrayed with gritty intensity by Luke Goss, who reunites with his former associates to unearth a fortune lost years prior. Their quest, however, is complicated by the relentless pursuit of a retired Sheriff, whose own demons are as formidable as the arid terrain. Val Kilmer makes a notable appearance, adding gravitas to the ensemble. While the narrative treads familiar crime thriller territory, Sesma injects a raw energy, culminating in a tense, desert-set showdown.
