PARASITE

Cinemavixion Review

Andrew Prendergast's 2004 film, 'Parasite,' presents a chilling scenario aboard an oil rig where a simple cleaning fluid experiment spirals into chaos. The narrative deftly shifts from corporate mishap to eco-activist takeover, culminating in an unexpected alliance when a terrifying new creature emerges. Gary Condés, Saskia Gould, and Conrad Whitaker anchor the tension with performances that navigate the complex dynamics between the trapped workers and the opportunistic activists. The film excels in its claustrophobic atmosphere and escalating sense of dread, forcing characters to confront not only the external threat but also their own conflicting motives. It's a thought-provoking exploration of survival instincts under extreme pressure, where cooperation becomes the only path forward against an unknown horror.
