PARANORMAL ISLAND

Cinemavixion Review

This 2014 independent horror offering, 'Paranormal Island,' attempts to blend a summer job gone wrong with supernatural dread. The premise follows three college friends who find themselves stranded on an island party destination after dark, only to encounter a menacing caretaker. While the film boasts a familiar cast including Lance Henriksen, Briana Evigan, and Randy Wayne, it struggles to fully capitalize on its atmospheric potential. Directed by Marty Murray, the narrative unfolds with a sense of isolation, but the execution often leans into predictable scares rather than genuine tension. Despite a modest runtime, the film's impact is somewhat diminished by its reliance on genre tropes, yet it offers a serviceable diversion for those seeking a straightforward, character-driven ghost story set against a secluded backdrop.
