PARANORMAL BELIEFS IN MODERN CHRISTIANITY: THE EXORCISM TREND

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the fascinating resurgence of exorcism within modern Christianity, particularly in Italy. It expertly navigates the paradox of declining church attendance juxtaposed with the burgeoning popularity of "deliverance from the devil" masses. The film introduces Father Francis Tiso, a Harvard-educated theology professor and exorcist, as our guide through this intriguing phenomenon. Through his perspective, we witness the Vatican's unprecedented initiative to train a new cohort of exorcists. The narrative probes the 'why' behind this trend, offering a thought-provoking exploration of faith, ritual, and the enduring human need for spiritual intervention in the face of perceived malevolence. It's a compelling look at a spiritual practice finding new relevance in contemporary times.
