PANHANDLE

Cinemavixion Review

Released in 1948, 'Panhandle' is a solid Western that delves into themes of justice and vengeance. Starring Rod Cameron as John Sands, a former Texas marshal turned fugitive, the film follows his determined quest to uncover the truth behind his brother's murder. Sands, a man whose gunfighting prowess has made him a wanted man, returns to the Texas panhandle to confront Matt Garson, the casino owner he believes is responsible. The narrative, enriched by details from external data including director Lesley Selander and the presence of Cathy Downs and Reed Hadley, offers a compelling tale of a man seeking retribution against formidable odds. While not overtly lauded with major awards, 'Panhandle' stands as a respectable entry in the Western genre, likely appreciated by fans of classic frontier justice tales.
