PALMDALE

Cinemavixion Review

Palmdale, released in 2014, presents a gritty exploration of redemption through the eyes of a drifter haunted by his past. The film masterfully navigates the noir-tinged narrative as a man on a deadly mission finds his path irrevocably altered by an unexpected encounter. The introduction of a young woman into his violent trajectory forces a profound confrontation with his own destructive impulses, posing the stark question of whether to succumb to his ingrained nature or embrace a chance at a new beginning. Directed by Erich Kemp and featuring a compelling performance from Lackos in the lead role, supported by Eliot and Olivia Preciado, Palmdale delves into themes of fate, consequence, and the enduring possibility of change. While its runtime is concise, the film packs a thematic punch, offering a thoughtful character study set against the backdrop of urban decay. This is a compelling watch for those drawn to character-driven dramas that probe the darker corners of the human psyche.
