PALERMO-MILAN ONE WAY

Cinemavixion Review

Claudio Fragasso's 1995 crime thriller, "Palermo-Milan One Way," offers a tense cat-and-mouse game set against the backdrop of organized crime. Starring the formidable Giancarlo Giannini as Turi Leofonte, a former mafioso turned potential witness, and the capable Raoul Bova as the police captain tasked with his protection, Nino Di Venanzio, the film navigates the perilous journey from Palermo to Milan. The narrative hinges on the high stakes of Leofonte's testimony, which makes him a target for the very organization he once served. Fragasso, with a script co-written by Rossella Drudi, crafts a suspenseful plot that, while perhaps not groundbreaking, delivers solid action and drama. The film, which garnered 4 wins and 4 nominations, is further bolstered by the presence of Ricky Memphis, adding another layer to the ensemble cast. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 6.3, "Palermo-Milan One Way" remains a noteworthy entry in Italian crime cinema, exploring themes of betrayal, survival, and the elusive pursuit of justice.
