PALE BLUE MOON

Cinemavixion Review

Mark Hosack's "Pale Blue Moon" delves into the fractured psyche of John Lefsburg, a small-town detective adrift in a sea of existential despair. Demoted and disengaged, John's bleak routine is shattered by the assignment of escorting Simon Applewhite, a homeless man convinced of an lunar alien invasion orchestrated by media mogul Frank Coen. What begins as a grim journey to a psychiatric ward evolves into an unexpected symbiosis, as John and Simon find their fates inextricably linked. The narrative masterfully explores themes of disillusionment, the search for meaning, and the blurred lines between reality and delusion. Brittany Parvin, Jeanette Chivvis, and Íce Mrozek deliver performances that resonate with raw vulnerability, anchoring the film's descent into a world where salvation might be found in the most unlikely of companions. "Pale Blue Moon" is a haunting exploration of the human condition, offering a poignant glimpse into lives teetering on the edge.
