Cinemavixion Review

Released in 1993, "Ozone" plunges viewers into a gritty, drug-fueled nightmare helmed by J.R. Bookwalter. The film follows Detective Eddie Boone, portrayed by James Black, who finds himself injected with a potent new designer drug while on a stakeout. This injection triggers a descent into a world overrun by mutants and monsters, as the drug transforms its users into powerful, zombie-like entities. Boone's quest to rescue his kidnapped partner, Mike Weitz (Tom Hoover), becomes a desperate fight for survival against these transformed beings and his own terrifying hallucinations. While the film may not have garnered major awards, its unique premise and visceral horror elements offer a compelling, albeit bleak, cinematic experience for fans of 90s low-budget genre cinema. The supporting cast, including Bill Morrison, adds to the film's cult appeal.
