OPERATION CURVEBALL

Cinemavixion Review

Johannes Naber's "Operation Curveball" plunges into the murky depths of geopolitical deception, unearthing the absurdly true story behind the Iraq War's fabricated intelligence. With a grotesque, almost surreal, touch, the film meticulously details how a web of misinformation, involving the German government and its secret service, paved the way for conflict. Anchored by strong performances from Sebastian Blomberg, Dar Salim, and Virginia Kull, the movie serves as a chilling reminder of the catastrophic consequences of faulty intelligence. "Operation Curveball" is a compelling, if disturbing, piece of cinematic journalism that exposes the fragility of truth in the corridors of power. The film earned critical acclaim, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 71% and an IMDb rating of 6.9, and was recognized with 2 wins and 3 nominations.
