ONLY THE BRAVE

Cinemavixion Review

Lane Nishikawa's 'Only the Brave' offers a poignant and essential look at the Japanese American 100th Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team. The film meticulously chronicles their journey from internment camps to becoming one of the most decorated units in U.S. military history during World War II. Nishikawa, who also stars in the film, imbues the narrative with a deep sense of honor and resilience. Tamlyn Tomita and Greg Watanabe deliver compelling performances, anchoring the story with emotional depth. While the film may not have garnered major awards, its true value lies in its historical significance and its powerful portrayal of courage in the face of profound prejudice. It serves as a vital reminder of the sacrifices made by these remarkable soldiers, whose bravery transcended the adversity they faced.
