Marlon Brando's sole directorial effort, "One-Eyed Jacks" (1961), is a sprawling, ambitious Western that is as visually striking as it is thematically complex. Brando himself stars as Rio, a charismatic outlaw betrayed by his partner, Dad Longworth (Karl Malden), after a daring bank heist. Five years later, Rio escapes the clutches of the law, driven by a burning desire for revenge against Longworth, who has since become a respected sheriff in California.
