ONCE UPON A WEDDING

Cinemavixion Review

Matia Karrell's 2005 film, "Once Upon a Wedding," presents a compelling narrative centered on a woman on the cusp of marriage whose life takes an unexpected turn. Starring Esai Morales, A Martinez, and Charlotte Ayanna, the film delves into themes of self-discovery and the courage to question one's path. The plot thickens as a car accident introduces a mysterious man into the bride-to-be's life, forcing her to confront doubts about her impending union, all while her powerful dictator father disapproves of the deviation from his plans. While the film may not have garnered widespread accolades, its exploration of personal agency against familial and societal pressures offers a thought-provoking cinematic experience for those seeking a character-driven drama with a touch of romantic intrigue.
