ONCE UPON A TIME IN DETROIT

Cinemavixion Review

"Once Upon a Time in Detroit" emerges as a compelling, albeit gritty, cinematic offering that delves into the complexities of ambition and the enduring spirit forged in challenging environments. While the external data points to a 2017 release directed by Joe Blount, the film's narrative, as suggested by its title and plot synopsis, promises a raw exploration of life in Detroit. The story of Robert "Bobby" Johnson, a defense attorney who has risen above his street origins, offers a potent examination of success, the inevitable conflicts it breeds, and the personal stakes involved. Despite a modest critical reception indicated by external data, the film's thematic resonance and its portrayal of resilience in the face of adversity warrant attention. It's a narrative that speaks to the drive for self-improvement and the often-unseen battles fought on the path to achieving one's goals.
