OMG WE'RE IN A HORROR MOVIE

Cinemavixion Review

Ajala Bandele's "OMG... We're in a Horror Movie" plunges a group of friends into a meta-cinematic nightmare. What begins as a typical board game night takes a sharp turn when a disembodied voice from the heavens declares them participants in a slasher flick. The film cleverly plays with horror tropes, as the protagonists grapple with their predetermined roles in a desperate bid for survival. While the premise offers ample opportunity for both scares and satire, the execution, as indicated by its IMDb rating of 3.6/10, suggests a film that may struggle to fully capitalize on its inventive concept. Nevertheless, for fans of self-aware horror comedies and meta-narratives, this 2016 independent feature offers a unique, albeit potentially uneven, viewing experience that dissects the very fabric of the genre.
