OLIVER SHERMAN

Cinemavixion Review

Ryan Redford's "Oliver Sherman" is a taut psychological thriller that delves into the lingering shadows of war and the fragile constructs of peace. Garret Dillahunt delivers a compelling performance as the titular veteran, Oliver Sherman, a man adrift and haunted by his past. His search for a wartime savior, played with understated tension by Donal Logue, leads him to disrupt the seemingly idyllic rural life of Franklin Page. Molly Parker offers a nuanced portrayal of Franklin's wife, caught in the crossfire of Sherman's unsettling presence. The film masterfully builds suspense, exploring themes of trauma, identity, and the insidious nature of unresolved conflict. "Oliver Sherman" is a character-driven drama that grips the viewer with its quiet intensity and the unnerving unraveling of its central relationships, marking it as a noteworthy entry in the genre.
