NUCLEAR CRISIS: THE ESCALATION OF THE COLD WAR | M.A.D WORLD | TIMELINE

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the chilling realities of the Cold War, a period defined by the omnipresent threat of nuclear annihilation. It masterfully illustrates the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.), exploring how the geopolitical tensions between global superpowers like Russia, China, and the USA brought the world to the precipice. The narrative highlights key events, from the militarization along the Iron Curtain and the brutal suppression of the Hungarian Uprising to the rise of Fidel Castro in Cuba and the subsequent Bay of Pigs fiasco. Furthermore, it captures the technological race, marked by the Soviet Union's early triumphs in space with Sputnik and the first man in orbit, and the stark division of Berlin symbolized by the infamous wall, a backdrop to desperate escape attempts. This examination serves as a potent reminder of past conflicts and their enduring impact.
