NORWAY’S SECRET SCANDAL | THE KING AND THE CROOK

Cinemavixion Review

This powerful documentary delves into the enigmatic figure of 'Gulosten,' a man whose life trajectory defied easy categorization. Hailed as a war hero and a national resistance icon during World War II, his post-war actions, specifically the cold-blooded murder of two Germans, cast a long shadow of controversy. The film masterfully unravels the mystery of why Gulosten, despite his heinous crime, never faced prosecution. It probes the complexities of his relationship with King Haakon VII of Norway, questioning the extent to which a powerful friendship might have shielded him from justice. 'The King and the Crook' compellingly explores the blurred lines between patriotism, power, and impunity, utilizing forgotten archives and wartime secrets to paint a picture of a man who became a national symbol yet remained above the law.
