NORTH KOREA: VOICES FROM THE SECRET STATE

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a harrowing glimpse into the clandestine world of North Korea through the eyes of those who have dared to escape. 'North Korea: Voices From The Secret State' compellingly features defectors and activists, such as Kang Mi-jin of the Daily NK, who risk everything to disseminate truth about the reclusive nation. The film unflinchingly portrays the perilous journey of smuggling information and people across borders, detailing the immense personal sacrifices made, including the agonizing separation from loved ones. It highlights the profound hope for eventual reunification and the conviction that external awareness is the critical catalyst for dismantling the oppressive regime. The narrative underscores the extreme dangers inherent in any communication with the outside world, painting a vivid picture of resilience and the desperate pursuit of freedom in the face of overwhelming adversity.
