NOI I DURI

Cinemavixion Review

In "Noi i duri," director Camillo Mastrocinque attempts a crime-comedy that, while featuring the beloved presence of Totò, struggles to find its footing. The plot follows FBI agent Fred Bombardone (played with characteristic swagger by Fred Buscaglione) as he infiltrates an Algerian nightclub's drug ring. The initial setup promises intrigue and perhaps some of Totò's signature comedic timing, but the narrative falters when Bombardone is robbed of his crucial drug stash. Despite a promising cast including Paolo Panelli and Scilla Gabel, the film is often described as uneven, failing to fully capitalize on its comedic and criminal elements. While an interesting artifact of Italian cinema from 1960, "Noi i duri" may leave audiences wishing for a more tightly woven story or a stronger comedic payoff.
