NOBODY DIES

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Nobody Dies,' director Quentin Krog delivers a darkly comedic Afrikaans-language film that chronicles the spectacularly bad week of Daniel Niemand. Portrayed with a fitting sense of hapless mediocrity by Bennie Fourie, Niemand's life takes a nosedive when his wife leaves him for their marriage counselor. This personal tragedy, however, inadvertently thrusts him into the middle of a high-stakes police operation targeting a local crime syndicate. The film blends elements of action and comedy, presenting a series of unfortunate events that escalate with absurd precision. Despite a modest 4.5/10 rating on IMDb and one nomination, 'Nobody Dies' offers a unique South African perspective on the 'everyman' caught in extraordinary circumstances, making it a noteworthy watch for those seeking offbeat cinematic experiences.
