NINETEEN SUMMERS

Cinemavixion Review

Rod S. Scott's 'Nineteen Summers' plunges into the heart of Los Angeles street culture, offering a poignant narrative of a 19-year-old father striving for a brighter future amidst the harsh realities of a turf war. The film, released in 2019, features a compelling performance from Terri Abney, alongside Emonjay Brown and Shinda Burrell. While the film garnered one nomination, its critical reception on IMDb sits at 4.3/10, suggesting a mixed audience response. Despite its modest rating, 'Nineteen Summers' provides a raw and unflinching look at the challenges of navigating a difficult environment, making it a noteworthy, albeit somber, cinematic experience for those interested in grounded, character-driven dramas.
