NEW EVIDENCE REVEALS THE SITE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT VIKING BATTLE IN ENGLAND

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary embarks on a dual-pronged exploration, weaving together the tangible challenges of a 10th-century Viking longship replica's sea trial with the intellectual pursuit of historical discovery. The voyage of the Draken, captained by Bjorn Ahlander, serves as a compelling narrative framework, vividly illustrating the perilous conditions faced by ancient seafarers. The accompanying archaeological findings in Liverpool, hinting at a significant lost Viking battle and a buried ship, add a layer of profound historical mystery. While the film masterfully connects the practicalities of maritime exploration with the unearthed secrets of the past, the narrative occasionally feels stretched between its two compelling, yet distinct, threads. Nevertheless, it offers a fascinating glimpse into both Viking seafaring capabilities and the ongoing process of uncovering England's rich, often hidden, history.
