NEW DNA EVIDENCE REVEALS WHAT VIKINGS REALLY LOOKED LIKE

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary compellingly intertwines a modern-day maritime adventure with cutting-edge genetic research to redefine our understanding of the Vikings. The narrative follows a diverse crew aboard a meticulously reconstructed Viking ship, the Draken, as they retrace historical routes from Norway towards North America. Their arduous journey, marked by unexpected repairs and the looming challenges of the North Atlantic, serves as a vivid parallel to the resilience and determination of their ancient predecessors. Simultaneously, the film delves into fascinating DNA evidence from hundreds of ancient remains, revealing that 'Viking' was less a matter of strict ethnicity and more a fluid identity shaped by lifestyle and extensive European intermingling. This dual approach offers a fresh perspective, celebrating both the spirit of exploration and the complex, evolving nature of Viking society.
