NEVER AGAIN?

Cinemavixion Review

Calvin Aurand's "Never Again?" is a profoundly moving documentary that tackles the enduring specter of antisemitism with unflinching honesty and a powerful message of hope. Released in 2020, the film embarks on a critical journey, juxtaposing the harrowing experiences of a Holocaust survivor with the transformative path of a formerly radicalized anti-Semite. This juxtaposition serves as the film's potent core, illuminating the devastating consequences of hatred while simultaneously highlighting the remarkable capacity for survival, redemption, and ultimately, love. The documentary, featuring insights from figures like Alan Dershowitz and Ben Ferencz, masterfully weaves personal testimonies with broader historical context. It eschews easy answers, instead opting for a nuanced exploration of how deep-seated prejudice can be confronted and overcome. "Never Again?" is not merely a historical recounting; it is a vital contemporary examination of modern-day hatred, urging viewers to confront uncomfortable truths and champion understanding. Its impact lies in its ability to foster empathy and provoke essential dialogue, making it a significant and necessary watch for anyone concerned with the preservation of humanity and the fight against intolerance.
