NEUROTIC BEAUTY

Cinemavixion Review

Raenell Jones's 'Neurotic Beauty' delves into the complexities of a marriage suffocating under the weight of routine. The film centers on Imari Jacobs, who finds himself questioning the very foundation of his relationship with Adea, yearning for a spark that has long since faded. When counseling is proposed, Adea's resistance hints at deeper issues, setting the stage for a narrative that explores the consequences of seeking fulfillment outside the confines of commitment. While the film may grapple with its themes, the performances, particularly from Qua Black and Rory A. Dirden, attempt to navigate the emotional landscape of marital discontent. The narrative, though brief in its runtime, aims to capture the devastating ripple effects of a decision driven by a desire for something more, ultimately costing the protagonist dearly. 'Neurotic Beauty' serves as a cautionary tale about the precipice of dissatisfaction and the choices made in its shadow.
