NEON MANIACS

Cinemavixion Review

This 1986 cult classic, "Neon Maniacs," plunges viewers into the dark underbelly of San Francisco, where a series of gruesome murders points to a monstrous threat lurking beneath the city's surface. Director Joseph Mangine crafts a chilling atmosphere, blending slasher tropes with a unique supernatural element as teenagers uncover the horrifying truth behind the disappearances. The film excels in its gritty, urban setting and the palpable sense of dread that permeates its narrative. While not a mainstream hit, its inventive premise and unsettling creature design offer a memorable horror experience for fans of 80s genre cinema. The performances, particularly from the young cast, effectively convey the terror of their characters' predicament, making "Neon Maniacs" a noteworthy, albeit niche, entry in the horror canon.
