NEEDLESTICK

Cinemavixion Review

Steven Karageanes's "Needlestick" plunges viewers into the claustrophobic confines of South Union Cardiac Hospital, presenting a tense thriller that grapples with ambition and ethical decay. The narrative centers on Everett Barnard, an intern caught in a dangerous web spun by his mentor, Dr. Crick, whose groundbreaking discovery of an anti-aging cure comes at a lethal cost. The film excels in its atmosphere of dread, amplified by the desperate circumstances of a hospital lockdown and the chilling presence of a mute assailant. Lance Henriksen lends a commanding, albeit menacing, performance as the morally compromised doctor. While the plot mechanics of a race against time to save loved ones and expose a murderous scheme are compelling, the film's true strength lies in its exploration of the dark side of scientific advancement. Despite a modest IMDb rating, "Needlestick" offers a gripping, character-driven suspense experience that rewards patient viewers with its escalating tension and thematic depth.
