Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the fascinating life of Josephine de Beauharnais, a figure inextricably linked with Napoleon Bonaparte. Presented as his Empress, muse, and great love, the film posits that her absence would have significantly altered Napoleon's trajectory. The narrative promises to unearth "priceless information" from French archives and private collections, including hundreds of newly revealed letters, offering a fresh perspective on her biography. It highlights her resilience, having survived the Reign of Terror and an assassination attempt, and suggests her intellect, taste, and allure were her primary weapons. The film aims to provide a comprehensive, historically contextualized understanding of this "clandestine Empress," exploring her escapades and the true life of this elusive historical figure.
