NANMAO AND BEIMA

Cinemavixion Review

This film plunges us into the tumultuous Republican era, where a brutal murder in a sacred temple shatters the tranquility of Submerged Water Town. The young master's subsequent derangement and the massacre of his caravan ignite fears of a vengeful spirit. Uncle Ying, a Maoshan School disciple, attempts to heal the afflicted youth but finds the malady too deep. The arrival of Bai Liu Hui and his enigmatic shamans, who perform seemingly miraculous rituals, restores the young master and earns them divine reverence. However, this newfound peace is short-lived, as spectral apparitions in wells and phantom soldiers herald a growing darkness. While the townsfolk seek solace in the "Three Immortals," Uncle Ying's unease mounts. His investigation unearths sinister secrets, pointing towards Xian Jiangtao, the elusive leader of Yi Village, yet the full truth remains tantalizingly obscured.
