MYSTERY RANCH

Cinemavixion Review

Bernard B. Ray's 'Mystery Ranch' presents a meta-narrative that playfully blurs the lines between fiction and reality. The story centers on a writer of western novels who, seeking an authentic experience, visits a real ranch. What begins as a quest for verisimilitude quickly devolves into a complex game of deception when staged events, intended to mimic the tropes of his genre, are interrupted by genuine outlaws. The protagonist, unable to distinguish the real from the fabricated, finds himself entangled in a dangerous situation, attempting to outwit actual criminals by employing the very narrative devices he writes about. This intriguing premise offers a unique commentary on storytelling, perception, and the often-unpredictable nature of reality itself, all within the classic Western framework.
