MY NAME IS SARAH

Cinemavixion Review

Paul A. Kaufman's "My Name Is Sarah" is a poignant exploration of identity and connection, anchored by a compelling performance from Jennifer Beals. Beals portrays Sarah, a woman whose loneliness leads her to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting under false pretenses, seeking not sobriety but a connection with Charlie, played with understated charm by Peter Outerbridge. The film masterfully navigates the delicate balance between Sarah's burgeoning romance and the potential unraveling of her deception. The narrative skillfully weaves themes of vulnerability and the courage it takes to embrace one's true self, even at the risk of loss. With a runtime of 98 minutes and a supporting cast including Nolan Gerard Funk, this Canadian-American production offers a thoughtful character study that resonates with its audience, posing profound questions about authenticity in relationships.
