MY NAME IS PECOS

Cinemavixion Review

Maurizio Lucidi's 'My Name Is Pecos' emerges as a compelling entry in the Spaghetti Western canon, a genre that continually redefined cinematic heroism. While the YouTube description offers a broad invitation to Westerns, this specific film, released in 1966, anchors itself with a narrative of vengeance and identity. Robert Woods delivers a memorable performance as Pecos Martinez, a character whose slow, deliberate responses mask a steely resolve. The plot masterfully intertwines Pecos' personal quest for retribution against the ruthless Clain with the pursuit of stolen money, creating a taut and engaging experience. Supporting performances, particularly from Pier Paolo Capponi and Lucia Modugno, add depth to the unfolding drama. Though perhaps not as widely recognized as some genre titans, 'My Name Is Pecos' stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of the lone gunman and the intricate plotting characteristic of Italian Westerns.
