MY GIRLFRIEND IS ALIEN

Cinemavixion Review

"My Girlfriend is Alien" presents a curious blend of science fiction and romance, delving into the age-old quest for genuine connection in a world seemingly preoccupied with superficiality. The narrative follows Xia Han, a celestial being tasked with understanding human emotion, who descends to Earth disguised as Xia Lin. Her journey is one of disillusionment as she encounters shallowness, only to find herself on the precipice of love. The film explores themes of authenticity versus artifice, and the vulnerability inherent in seeking true affection. While the premise promises an exploration of alien perspectives on human relationships, the execution navigates familiar romantic tropes. The direction by San Bu attempts to balance fantastical elements with relatable emotional arcs, offering a thoughtful, albeit sometimes predictable, look at love's complexities.
